This past Sunday I attended a baby shower for one of our church members. Among the guest was my very creative friend Lindsey, who made these yummy cake pops. It was such a hit! Not only did it look good but they tasted good too! I wanted to share some detailed images of her "oh so yummy" creation.

Preview & Portfolio Box

I received the image preview and portfolio image box from Finao two days ago and here are examples of how these new items look. I am totally amazed by how wonderful they look and the quality is just amazing! The preview box is a great way to display your image proofs instead of tucking them away. The portfolio box is also great for displaying out on the coffee table or use the matted images to display on your wall. Be on the look out for a few more new items this year.

So I've been working on the new items that I will have available for 2009. I am really excited about these image portfolio and image preview boxes from Finao. Instead of presenting you with plain black box with your proof images or prints, why not have your personal image printed on them. I love this new product because you can keep it out for display instead of hiding it. Each box will be custom designed just for you. Here are layout samples:

Monique & Aliyah

Last Friday I got a call from Monique to see if I was available on Sunday, so of course I couldn't say no to a friends. Our little adventure started at Rope Mill Park where we all braved the cold weather. Monique and Aliyah just had one of the coldest shoot I've done and not only that but also the funniest! I've never laughed so hard trying to stay warm and watching these two interact with each other. As we headed out to our last location, we stopped for a few shots at a nearby railroad track. Then we were off to Walden Crossing for some indoor shots. I had a great time and as always a good laugh when these two are around. Thank you, especially to Aliyah, for being such a trooper during the park shoot.

Lindsey, Josie & Cole

This past Wednesday Lindsey, Josie, Cole and I (along w/my own two) headed out to Rope Mill Park where we played and of course take a few family photos. I met Lindsey and her family not too long ago through our church and since then we've gotten to be good friends. It was just a matter of time that we started planning play dates since both of our children were the same age. This was a great shoot because not only did I get to take photographs of good friends but we also found a little budding model. Josie was a blast to work with and was really working the camera, it was like a totally different person once the camera started clicking. Cole was great cause he was animated and truly challenge us but he did a great job. Lindsey on the other hand was a little shy. Here are a few favorites from our day out at the park.

Life Long Friends

Michele & Robert's wedding took place at the United Faith Christian Ministry in Stafford, VA. I've been excited about this wedding because I've known Robert for several years and after meeting Michele I knew they were just perfect for each other. I met Michele several months ago for their engagement photos and the moment I met her I knew we would hit it off. She and Robert seem to be life long friends and they definitely knew how to play off each other.

The wedding preparation started off early for Michele with hair and make-up with her bridal party. After spending a few minutes with Michele, I headed to Robert's room for his photos. Surprisingly enough, these two were so calm and relaxed. The ceremony took place at the United Faith Christian Ministry Church where family and friends from near and afar traveled to join in their celebration. After the ceremony, we headed out to the Cannon Ridge Golf Club where the party started. Thank you Michele and Robert for such a wonderful weekend. I had a great time getting to know your family, meeting up with old friends and making new ones.

Today I had the pleasure of photographing Tom, Kristie, Megan, Trenton, Reagan and Marci for a family portrait. As I always say to anyone that has more than 2 kids, "More power to you!" Tom & Kristie are amazing parents who have 4 wonderful kids who truly are a joy. Our little adventure started on their front porch, which was a great spot to just let the kids be themselves. Then we headed out to the Wyngate ClubHouse to get some fall colors into the picture. This is where the kids, including Tom, really lets themselves loose! And this is where I really laughed the most. This past weekend was a busy weekend for me. I assisted in a very festive wedding on Saturday and then on Sunday I visited and photographed my favorite little friend, Tatum. Funny how time flies because it was almost a year ago when I photographed her laying on the floor while Guiness licked her face! Now she's all grown up and turning into one beautiful "Diva" as mom describes her. I can always count on Lindsey for great laughs when I visit. The Pumpkin Hunt

Saturday was supposed to be one of our lazy Saturday, meaning we did nothing after we finished any work that needed to be done around the house. This Saturday was not so, our first trip was to sign up Brianna for basketball. Yes, basketball! Afterwards, instead of the usual pumpkin from a store we decided to drive to Berry Patch Farms in Woodstock, GA. It was sort of planned and it was sort of not. I've been looking forward to a pumpkin patch because it had been ages since we've gone to one, New Mexico 6 years ago to be exact. Of course who would have guessed I actually had my camera with me. Besides the harsh lighting we made the best out of the day to pick out our special pumpkin. Here are a few favorites of mine from our pumpkin hunting. Tatum & Lindsey

This past Saturday I had another portrait session with 6-month-old Gavin and his mom Rebecca. They were such great sports and were up for anything. Gavin is such a happy baby and you can definitely tell just by the photos I took of him. I couldn't stop taking pictures of him; he always had a smile on his face. Mom also did great, they both were so good and very natural that they made my job seemed so easy! Thanks guys for the session!

Michelle, Alex and Nathan

This past Saturday I had pleasure of meeting two energetic boys, Alex and Nathan, and their mom Michelle for a portrait session. I was amazed at how fast Nathan could move considering he is only 9 months old. Then there is Alex, a 2-½ yr. old little spitfire that not only is fast but also very animated. Along with the boys, mom Michelle was there for support and also to have her photograph with her boys. Thanks guys for the session!

Mary & Ron

July 4th weekend took me to Lexington, KY where I photographed the cutest couple, Ron & Mary. Okay, I am biased because I knew Ron through my husband in the Air Force on our first assignment 7 years ago. After all these years I couldn't be happier for him because he found his perfect match. Mary is so down to earth and so easy to talk to, I had such a blast getting to know the two of them as a couple. Mary is from New Jersey and Ron is from Kentucky so its city meets country, total opposites but with so much in common. The weekend celebration was set at The Crowne Plaza - The Campbell House. It was the perfect location for both families to gather for the ceremony and reception, it had such a quaint feel and with lots of niches for their intimate photos. I had such an awesome time seeing old friends and making new ones, thank you!

Michelle & Robert...At Last!

This weekend I had the pleasure of photographing Michelle and Bob at the Georgia Tech campus where they first met over 10 years ago. First of all they are a great couple for coming out to Georgia to be photographed and second of all on a very, very hot day. Michelle and Bob are definitely made for each other, especially after hearing their story. I had a wonderful time getting to know them, with lots of laughs and a tour of the campus. At long last they are on their way to their "I dos" after years apart. Congratulations you two, I had a really great time getting to know both of you as a couple!

I had the pleasure of photographing Emily and Jason for their engagement and now their wedding. The Log Cabin Church was a great location for the ceremony and reception, where else can you find a bell tower and a wishing well in one place? Emily was beautiful as ever and look so classic and classy. She is also a very calm bride! As for Jason, he was playing chess in his suit before the nuptials. Emily's brother officiated the intimate ceremony as family and friends looked on. Not long after the ceremony, guest were "treated" to tables of sweets courtesy of Jason's mother. What a sweet surprise! Thank you for letting me be a part of your wonderful occasion. Here are my favorites of the day.

Lisa's Pregnant!

What a wonderful time of the year! A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing my long time friend for a maternity shoot. This was something I did not want to miss since we've lived so far away since graduating from school. Lisa and I made the special trip to TN (she lives in Indiana) and met at her parent's home for a baby shower and managed to fit in a maternity shoot. This weekend I photographed Emily and Jason for their engagement photos. Emily is a painter and Jason is a graphic designer so you can imagine all the creativity and energy flowing between them. Along with Tara “the assistant”, we had a ball just watching them be themselves. What troops, we started shooting at 8:30 am and had us laughing until noon. They are so playful and funny which made the shoot a breeze! Like Tara said, you guys will be a hard act to follow. Can’t wait to shoot on your wedding day!

I had the pleasure of documenting a maternity and children’s portrait at the same time. The Stone family is fun and so easy going that I could have taken their pictures all day. Both brother and sister sure knows how to work the camera, every time they turned there was a photo opt. Mom was a trooper, she did a lot of moving around but it was all worth it. Tammy's California Boot Camp

The end of August was in full swing. I headed out to Los Angeles on the 24th for 3 weddings back to back! Let me just tell you, it was an experience and I learned so much! Thanks to Tammy for letting me follow and assist in these weddings, I had such a good time visiting and also learning from her. We had great weather and lots of beautiful brides, flowers and grooms of course. Here are my favorites from the two weddings I can show.

Lindsey & Kevin = Baby

I had the opportunity to take pictures of Lindsey and Kevin last week and had such a good time seeing them after all these years. Of course Lindsey is still the same but this time with child. The maternity shoot was fun and great because we got a chance to catch up. I can't wait to see the baby. Kevin was a great sport too. The kids loved playing with him and I think they were entertained by him as well. Oh and their dog Guinness of course, can't forget Guinness! Thanks Kevin and Lindsey for the opportunity. Gone Fishing

So we seem to travel more now than we use to since we are closer to family...and there is so much more to do around town. Two weekends ago we were in SC visiting Papa and Nana, of course the one thing that Brianna made sure she got to do was fish. She had been talking about fishing before we left TX. Of course Kieran had to do what Big sister wanted to do. Here are a few snaps I took of them, it was a hot and humid day so we didn't stay out too long! AND I think, no I'm sure we were scaring the fish more that anyone around us.

Busy Month

So we are a weekend away from school. Brianna will start Kindergarden this Monday!!! She's getting really excited and so am I. Not cause she's going to school but because I can probably work more. Now, what to do with Kieran...I think he will be fine as long as I keep him busy. Besides school for Brianna, Kieran and I will be doing a maternity shoot sometime next week. I will also start attending a photography club twice a month, which will help me get the creative juice flowing more. Then the BIG trip to Los Angeles for 3 wedding shoots!!! SHOUT OUT to TAMMY!!! She invited me to assist her with these weddings and also meet Jenny, her boss. What a BIG weekend that will be. I will keep you all updated once I come back. Hopefully I can produce some amazing photos, with some help of course.

Here are out recent adventure...the pooool!!! Talk about getting some color! Brianna is starting to blend into her brown bathing suit and Kieran actually has tan lines!

keep on changing

As we begin our new life here near ATL there has been lots of changes. Yes, i've changed my header but more importantly we've settled into our little place for the time being and the kids are adjusting. I'm still pursuing the photography avenue, I should have a website in the next month or so...

Brianna is about to start school in two weeks!!! I can't believe she'll be in Kindergarden what happen to my babies? She's very excited about starting school and meeting new friends. She's been working on a Kindergarden book this summer and is really getting into reading (I love hearing her read things). Kieran is growing as well. He's become really independent and starting to show his true colors. I don't know what to do with him once Brianna starts school. He really loves his sister and always grabs her to give her a hug. At least they play well with each other, of course that's until one irritates the other.

This week started off kind of shaky for Brianna. We were getting her shot records ready for the Georgia form but aparently the military didn't mail us all the updated ones!!! Brianna thought she was going to get 5 more shots but yes, I was on top of things that we straighted it out. So she is ready for school now, just have to register her. Everyday has been really slow after that day. We've just driven around town to get familiar and look at home. Kieran likes to look at model home, just wish we could already move to one. About 5 more months and counting.

The highlight of my week was when I took pictures of the kids dressing up. I love watching them play dress up because they come up with the funniest looks. Lets just say they get creative. Here are my favorites from their "Dress Up Day." I think I may have some Diane Arbus influence in one of my photos, what do you think?

Rocky Top Tennessee

So we finally made it to Georgia but spent our first weekend in TN. Since we've never been this close to family we thought we should test the waters and see how long/short the drive would feel...and boy did it feel short! This is amazing to me since we've never been this close to family in almost 8 years. Oh yeah, thanks to John, Dad, William, Mom, Ann, Tonja and Hunter for all the help moving a few of our things (all 3 floors!)!!!

We are adjusting to the civilian change and the kids are really enjoying the location. Brianna is excited about starting school and Kieran, he's just excited. We are getting ready for school to start and getting back to a schedule (losing an hour really makes a difference). Monty enjoys his stressless work and I'm just trying to find work.

I am still amazed by all the trees and greenery surrounding us, I really miss it and glad to be back. Here are a few shots from this past weekend in TN with my family. The kids really love the vegestable and fruit garden!
